Description

This course introduces students to the field of medicine and healthcare ethics. Topics covered include justice, mental illness, the right to refuse treatment, people with disabilities, and people’s inequality in getting treatment and human rights. This course will discuss questions like: Is euthanasia ethical? Is abortion ethical? Should we always follow advance directives? Student will learn how to develop arguments from a philosophical point of view and to analyze ethical issues in the field of biomedicine.
