Description

This course studies world history from the early 20th century to the present. It examines relations among the major powers, the impact of imperialism, the growth of global political economy, and the differing patterns of industrialization, modernization and cultural development throughout the period. In addition to analyzing the origins, causes, and consequences of world wars and regional conflicts, we will also discuss global movements with special reference to gender, class, and cultural issues.
